Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC) is one of the largest Special Olympics programs in the world with nearly 40,000 registered athletes who train and compete in year-round programs in 20 different sports.
The Summer Games is the largest state-level event for SONC featuring competition in seven different sports. This annual event will return to Raleigh, Cary and Holly Springs June 2-4 with more than 1,300 athletes.
Opening Ceremony will take place Friday, June 2, at 7:30 pm. Doors will open at 6:30 pm with a dance party beginning at that time. This event is free and open to the public. Come and cheer on the Special Olympic athletes and Unified partners as they kick off the games. This year's theme is magic so prepare to be amazed!
